ELECTRON BEAM MELTING Selective Electron Beam Melting (SEBM) is a powder-based process for the additive manufacturing of fully dense metal components. Each layer of the powder bed is melted to the geometry defined by a CAD model. The SEBM-process provides complex-shaped parts without additional equipment and extensive manufacturing steps. SEBM is a competitive manufacturing technique for the implementation of small batches and individual parts. A high power electron beam is generated for a high melting capacity. The interaction between metal powder and highly accelerated electrons of the beam results in lattice vibration as well as fusion and vaporizing of the raw material.
